![]() We have divided the categories in this article into alphabetically arranged lists to help you easily locate one applicable to the group with which you are playing. The number of categories one has available for playing Scattergories is almost unlimited. Make sure you write them down so that you can use them in the future and share them with others. For example, in the “Pets” category, you can limit “Breeds of Dogs” to “Breeds of Dogs That Are Brown.”Īs you play Scattergories, you will think of your own variations and categories. ![]() For example, any list can be narrowed by adding a limiter. You can also create variations in the lists. Once a child has played as a partner, they will learn the rules and build their confidence to a point where they can play alone. Try pairs if your family has some younger children who could use some help and guidance. Teams work particularly well for larger groups. Try playing Scattergories in teams or pairs for a fun time. Doing so creates original games recalling fun times and making new ones. Some players enjoy customizing their game by adding personal categories, such as names of family members, favorite sports teams, or vacations taken. Alternatively, you can create categories for each letter of the category word. For example, if the category is fruit, players list words beginning with f, r, u, i, and t. To make the game a bit more interesting, have players list words beginning with all the letters in the title of the category. If you wish, you can give two points for two words, such as “red rose.” One original word using the letter scores one point. The goal is to list words other players miss. ![]() List cards show twelve categories and players list words attempting not to write down words duplicated by other players.Ī homemade Scattergories game follows the same basic premise, except the game is played by choosing a category and then listing words applicable. In a store purchased Scattergories game, players roll letter die and then think of words beginning with the letter shown.

This will prompt you to specify the type of partition which you wish to create. To create a new partition, we use the command ‘n’. Our main objective here is to create a partition. ![]() You can get a list of available commands by pressing ‘m’, as shown below. The command mode of fdisk uses single character commands to specify the desired action for the system. Once we enter the command mode, many beginners might get confused due to the unfamiliar interface. Partitioning A Disk Using the command mode If you see an output similar to this, you have successfully entered the command mode. To enter the command mode, we use this command in our terminal. To create partitions, we use the ‘command mode’ of the fdisk command. For this tutorial, we will choose the disk. Now, we choose one disk from this list to partition. You should get an output similar to the following. Here we called the fdisk command with the -l to list the partitions. You might be prompted to enter your password again to verify your sudo privileges. To view all the partitions currently on your system, we use the following command. ![]() This is essential as we need to choose a disk before we partition it. The fdisk utility is a text-based command-line utility for viewing and managing disk partitions on a Linux system.īefore we create a partition on our system, we need to list all the partitions on our system. ![]() In this tutorial, we will utilize the fdisk command to create a disk partition. Creating partitions can also help you install multiple operating systems on your machine and minimize the damage in case of disk corruption. This can help you allocate different memory regions for specific uses. MBR = Older = Contains 'Primary Data Partition' label = Won't boot on UEFI-only BIOS mode.In this tutorial, we’ll be covering the steps to create a partition in Linux. GPT = Newer = Contains 'Basic Data Partition' labels = Won't boot on MBR-only BIOSes. If you absolutely need fiddle with anything, you can back up all the data on the MBR partitions, reformat / reinitialize to GPT and then copy it back across. The older MBR-style disks / partitions will still show up and perform at the same speed once you've reached Windows. What does this mean to you? It looks to me as though you can set your BIOS to boot UEFI only, as your boot / OS disk (Disk 3) appears to conform to UEFI, and you may also disable any kind of MBR compatibility mode in your BIOS to potentially increase boot speeds. Apparently, it's not as easy to see which disks are GPT vs MBR in the basic Disk Management window as it is presented to you you have to examine the Volume properties of each Disk to check which of them they are. If you look carefully, you'll notice that C: also contains a Basic Data Partiton, along with a telltale 'EFI System Partition', which suggests both Disk 3 (which contains your OS) and your new Disk 0 are formatted (or were initialized) as the more up-to-date GPT style partitions, whilst all the rest use the older MBR type partitions. ![]() The example on top is already shown how to create a RabbitMqSingleton class that will initialize only one time when a project is running. Singleton means that only one object of its kind exists and provides a single point of access to it for any other code. ![]() RabbitMQ creates a connection every time you initialize a bus instance by using BusFactory, so to decrease a connection that is created, use the singleton concept while creating a bus from it. Note that if those solutions are divided into different repositories, make sure to commit and push a change in both of them if there are any updates on that model. To make sure that your model can have the same namespace between publisher and consumer code, we can single out the message model to a different project then it can be shared between the publisher solution file and consumer solution file. With MassTransit, your exchanges are automatically set by this library to be divided by namespace. Consumers identify which message they should consume by using exchanges. Single Out Message ModelĮxchanges play an important role while using RabbitMQ. There are a couple of things that you can try when implementing RabbitMQ using MassTransit. Furthermore, the TestFactory allows you to easily set up both in-memory transport and real transport-based unit tests for your consumers. MassTransit provides an in-memory transport bus that allows you to modify and use for your integration tests. You can check for your queue health state using the performance counter from this library and System.Diagnostics namespace. MassTransit provides a full developer kit and function to simplify diagnostic progress. You can handle those types of data with ease with those serializers. MassTransit provides a number of serializers, including BSON, JSON, XML, and Binary. MassTransit will try to re-queue the message by several tries before moving it to the error queue. It will not immediately move it to the error queue. If exceptions are thrown from your consumers. It allows you to inspect failure messages and you can even shovel them back to the main queue. Upon failure, MassTransit will move your message to a separate error queue. ![]() MassTransit provides an ability to automatically reconnect and handle failures when something happens to your connection to the queue server. As such it brings a lot of the application-specific logic closer to the programmer in an easy-to-configure manner.īelow I listed the benefits that we can get from using MassTransit : 1. NET-friendly abstraction over the messaging technologies MSMQ (Microsoft Message Queuing) and RabbitMQ. You are of course welcome to try and use Budd’s sketch in this project, you may prefer the operation of his decoder software to mine.Īs with several of my projects, I am using the Arduino Nano for this project due to its conveniently small size. In fact Budd’s software sketch will work just fine with my circuit although it will operate a little differently to mine. For my project I’ve integrated WB7FHC’s audio filtering circuit with a standard Arduino Nano and modified his software for my own feature preferences. The unit automatically adjusts itself to the speed of the incoming Morse code and displays the speed on the LCD.īudd’s original open source project doesn’t actually use an Arduino module as such, instead he incorporates the Arduino’s processor chip and clock components directly onto a ready-made decoder PCB. All functions are controlled by three push buttons along the top of the unit. It includes a software controlled noise impulse filter, an automatic input-frequency tuning circuit and a switchable Farnsworth setting for receiving Morse that uses Farnsworth timing. The decoder will receive Morse code from an audio source, decode it and display it on a built-in 4 line, 20 character LCD. The VK2IDL Morse Decoder is based on an excellent open source design by Budd Churchward, WB7FHC. And so, the idea of building my own Morse decoder was born. In the process I was curious to note that there were a number of hardware and software Morse decoder units available, although reports on their performance varied. I started looking for on-line Morse training websites in the hope of recovering some of my proficiency. I had studied Morse Code back in the 1980’s as a requirement for my advanced AOCP and used it regularly enough to maintain a reasonable proficiency for a number of years. ![]() The idea of building a Morse decoder is the result of having recently returned to amateur radio after a long absence. In outlining, you use an intended list of ideas, very similar to a table of contents of sorts. Outlining is another technique, which is very similar. ![]() When creating a mind map, you try to visualize ideas, making them easier to grasp, easier to see. I usually compare outlining with mind mapping. Outlining as a methodĬreating outlines is a brainstorming method for visualizing project ideas, writing summaries of meetings, or outlining drafts of papers and theses. The company dates back into the earlier days of Apple software development, with being founded in 1992. OmniOutliner is created by The Omni Group. Next, some general details about outlining and why you should do it. First, I'll talk about the history of The Omni Group and OmniOutliner itself. In this article, I'll take a look at OmniOutliner and discuss how it can beat Markdown outlines or mind mapping.īefore looking into the app itself, let's take a look at some background information. Outlines are intended lists of bullet points, a way to structure and brainstorm new project ideas, take notes in a meeting, or structure your documents. Putting history aside, OmniOutliner is an excellent tool for outlining tool for Mac and iOS. This is a pity, as OmniFocus historically actually sprouted out of OmniOutliner Pro as a third party addon for GTD. However, OmniOutliner is for some reason lesser known. As the name suggests, it is closely related to the task management suite OmniFocus, which you probably know. ![]() ![]() OmniOutliner is an outlining app by The Omni Group. ![]() Where the network cable from the camera plugs in to the powerline adapter, you should see a steady orange light, and a blinking green light. The LED switch on the side of the powerline adapter will turn ALL the LEDs either on or off. But then the Alert software has the ability to put a password on the powerline network, so there's potentially that complication. I've never seen the MAC address of the powerline adapter in the router listings, only the device connected to the adapter. I would guess that by pressing the reset on the bottom of the camera it would clear any settings from the camera in regards to previous network settings, but then there's the relationship between what the camera is doing and the powerline adapter.
